Claude Code mods

Give the terminal a new capability. Mods are plugins with JavaScript or TypeScript event handlers that can draw UI, observe turns and change tool-call behavior.

A real format, with a small sample catalog

Current official documentation requires Claude Code v2.1.287 or later. Anthropic links three playground samples: Token Weather, Blast Radius and Replay Theater. These are shared as-is, without product support. Our catalog includes those three source-reviewed examples; it does not claim to cover every community mod.

Review before you load

Mods run inside Claude Code with your user privileges and are not sandboxed. Read the source and use claude plugin validate on the downloaded directory to inspect declared hooks and calls. Validation lists behavior; it does not certify that a mod is safe.

Where the interface appears

A mod’s drawing capabilities depend on the surface. The terminal and supported Desktop Code sessions can draw UI; the VS Code chat panel and non-interactive sessions do not display those panes. The sample READMEs specify terminal requirements. Follow each sample’s compatibility notes.
