How we pick
We prioritize a specific purpose, readable source documentation, an identifiable publisher, clear source licensing and a documented installation path. These picks are based on source review. We have not benchmarked or executed these plugins, and “best” means a useful fit for a stated task.
All six picks below are Anthropic-authored packages in its official marketplace. This simplifies the starting choices; it does not guarantee their behavior. MCP services, language-server plugins and experimental Mods have additional considerations and are listed separately in the directory.
Build and design
Start here when your main task is implementing a feature or creating a frontend.
Frontend Design
PluginA narrow, instruction-driven starting point for frontend work. It has a clear purpose and needs no separate external tool service.
- Requirements: Claude Code with plugin support
- Consider: Design guidance is an instruction skill, not a visual regression test; Accessibility and browser behavior still need review
claude plugin install frontend-design@claude-plugins-official --scope localFeature Dev
PluginUseful when the hard part is understanding an existing codebase and choosing a design before editing. Its guided process is heavier than a direct small change.
- Requirements: Claude Code with plugin support; A codebase to explore
- Consider: The structured workflow takes more turns than a small direct edit; Generated architecture and implementation require human judgment
claude plugin install feature-dev@claude-plugins-official --scope localReview and understand changes
Choose a review workflow based on the lens you need and where its output should go.
PR Review Toolkit
PluginA good fit when you want focused review of tests, comments, types or error handling. You can ask for the review area that matches your change.
- Requirements: Claude Code with plugin support
- Consider: Findings are suggestions, not proof of correctness; Multiple agents may add model usage
claude plugin install pr-review-toolkit@claude-plugins-official --scope localCode Review
PluginConsider it for a GitHub pull request workflow that can publish findings. Inspect its posting behavior and authentication requirements before use.
- Requirements: Git repository with a pull request; GitHub CLI authentication for PR operations
- Consider: Review output can be wrong or miss bugs; Posting comments changes the pull request; review your intended workflow first
claude plugin install code-review@claude-plugins-official --scope localWorkflows and extension authoring
Repeatable Git tasks and plugin authoring have different jobs; add either only when you need it.
Commit Commands
PluginA compact set of Git workflows for repeated commit and PR steps. Its convenience also means it can create real commits and pushes.
- Requirements: Git repository; GitHub CLI for the PR command
- Consider: Commands can stage, commit and push real changes; Read the planned diff and destination before running a write workflow
claude plugin install commit-commands@claude-plugins-official --scope localPlugin Dev
PluginThe more suitable starting point for building a plugin rather than using one. Its skills cover multiple components, so check current official APIs as you author.
- Requirements: Claude Code with plugin support
- Consider: Generated examples must be checked against current documentation; Some guidance describes settings hooks; it does not automatically make a JavaScript mod
claude plugin install plugin-dev@claude-plugins-official --scope localQuestions before you install
Should I install all six?
No. Pick the package for one recurring task. Enabled plugins can add context and processes to your sessions. Expand your setup when another package solves a real need.
Does “official marketplace” mean every plugin is made by Anthropic?
No. The marketplace also includes integrations from partners and the community. Our directory lists the publisher and source status separately.
Are these plugins tested or security certified by ClaudeStack?
No. Our reviews cover documentation, manifests and installation syntax. Read the source and the official trust guidance before running an extension.
Where should I start with Mods?
Read the Mods guide and the three sample READMEs. They demonstrate the format and are shared without product support. Mods run with your user privileges.
Install with a clear scope
The commands above use local scope to enable the package for you in this repository. Check dependencies first and inspect the installed components. Our installation guide explains marketplaces, scopes and session loading.
