When to choose it
Understanding what Claude attempted to change during a turn.
Choose it if: You want to inspect recorded file-edit calls from the last turn in a terminal review pane.
Look elsewhere if: You need rollback or proof that an edit succeeded; use your repository diff and history for those checks.
What the source describes
- Records Edit, Write and MultiEdit calls
- Shows one short diff at a time
- A /replay command and navigation buttons
Requirements
- Claude Code v2.1.287 or later
- Terminal for the sample pane
Review, then try in one session
These commands download the sample and then load its code. Read the source before running the final line. Validation is an inspection aid, not a security guarantee.
git clone https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code-playground.git
cd claude-code-playground/claude-code/mods
claude plugin validate ./replay-theater
claude --plugin-dir ./replay-theaterUse it after installation
After a turn with edits, use /replay. Use git diff to inspect the actual repository changes.
Installation and loading troubleshootingLimitations & considerations
- Recorded calls are not proof an edit succeeded or was approved
- Diffs are capped and do not replace git diff; no rollback function
Mods can act with your user privileges, including file access, processes and network requests. ClaudeStack has not run this sample. Check the official trust guidance before loading it.
